STATUES

STATUES

Some moments stay with us.

Experiences can become emotional imprints that continue to shape how we see ourselves, how we interpret others, and how we respond.

STATUES is a way of helping people slow down, reflect and make sense of those imprints.

STATUES
01

Why STATUES?

The name comes from the idea of a moment becoming frozen in time.

Some experiences become like statues in our memory — fixed, powerful and still influencing us long after the moment has passed.

STATUES gives people a simple way to recognise those moments and understand how they may still be shaping behaviour, relationships and choices today.

02

Understanding the imprint

Emotional imprints can shape how we respond to things such as:

  • confidence and fear
  • connection and protection
  • trust and withdrawal
  • belonging and rejection
  • responsibility and avoidance

The important question is not simply:

“What happened?”

It is:

“How is that experience influencing the way I think, feel or respond today?”

03

Reflection creates awareness

STATUES is not about living in the past.

It is about understanding what the past may still be doing in the present.

When people begin to recognise the patterns shaped by earlier experiences, they gain more choice in how they respond.

Awareness creates choice.

Choice creates change.

04

More than a framework

STATUES is a practical approach to understanding people.

It helps individuals, families, practitioners, teams and organisations look beneath behaviour and consider the experiences, emotions and relationships that may be shaping what they see.

It is designed to create reflection without judgement, and understanding without removing responsibility.

05

How STATUES is used

The STATUES approach can sit underneath many kinds of work.

  • Workshops
  • Training
  • Facilitation
  • Family work
  • Leadership and mentoring
  • Reflective conversations
  • Resources and learning tools

Core idea

Behaviour makes more sense when we understand the story beneath it.

Understanding does not remove accountability.

It gives people a clearer place to begin.
